What Books Would You Recommend for Mike Henry’s Bookshelf?

What Books Would You Recommend for Mike Henry’s Bookshelf?

Set your DVRs and PVRs: NBC announced that “The Michael J. Fox Show” will premiere on Thursday, September 26 at 9 p.m. ET. In anticipation of the series premiere, we began to think about what books we would suggest for the Henry family bookshelf. Mike Henry, played by Michael J. Fox, must have picked up a book or two in preparation for his return to the workforce with PD after a few years at home.  The resources available on Parkinson’s disease are endless - ranging from patient and caregiver guides, to children books and memoirs with a sense of humor. At MJFF, we believe that knowledge of the disease is one of the most powerful tools you can arm yourself with.

Two books the MJFF staff would recommend to the Henry family include: The Case of the Frozen Addicts, a medical mystery based on true events that led to research breakthroughs for PD; and Parkinson’s Disease for Dummies, an A-Z guide on understanding and coping with the disease and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle at any stage of diagnosis (MJFF’s Co-Founder, Debi Brooks even wrote the foreword to the book.)

Submit your must-have Parkinson’s resources in the comments section below and we may pick your suggestion to sit on MJFF’s e-bookshelf on our Books & Resources page.
